For example, custom wheels and low profile tires are easily damaged and may not give you the same comfortable ride as the stock wheels, Heavier wheels cause excessive wear and stress to the stock suspension, and lowering your car may result in alignment problems and excessive tire wear. Because of this, you may want to research any modification that you feel may cause a problem. So understand that sometimes you have to accept the good with the bad. Performance Computer Chips - Increases engine power and may assist other motor modifications, however it may affect your vehicles drivability and you ability to pass state emission standards. Custom Paint Job - A big way to show off your ride with a unique and personal look, though custom paint jobs are expensive and may make your vehicle difficult to sale if you ever decide to sale your car. Body Kits - Changes any stock car into something unique, but it can make your car look cheap if not installed on the vehicle properly, or if the paint doesn't match the vehicle. Nitrous Oxide - Gives a huge horsepower boost, however nitrous oxide is not typically legal to have in your daily driver. The engine is also at risk of severe damage if your engine components are not up to the task. Custom Exhaust - Increased exhaust flow resulting in extra power gain, can be loud (bad thing?) and may affect your ability to pass your state emissions. Window Tint - Makes it difficult for people to see into your car and prevents interior fading, though it may not be legal in your state. Camshafts - Improved performance, can cause a rough idle, loss of low-rpm power, and loss of engine vacuum.
